Married?<\/h2>\n

\nNOW?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIt’s so weird to wrap my head around…<\/p>\n

\nBut many couples are<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nAs a world wide pandemic<\/strong> is going on, so does life.<\/p>\n

\nMeaning, people will still fall in love. People will still get married<\/strong>, no matter what.<\/p>\n

\nGranted, some weddings were planned far in advance, and they’re just sticking to their dates…<\/p>\n

But I don’t get it.<\/h2>\n

\nWhat get married during a pandemic?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTo say you did? Is that exciting?<\/p>\n

\nTake for example an acquaintance of mine. His daughter just got married in a hall 2 weeks ago<\/strong> (the beginning of August).<\/p>\n

\nThere were originally supposed to be 300 people<\/strong> present. They whittled that down to 150<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThey rented an entire hall, then divided it into 3 sections; 1) for the bride to get dressed in. 2) the wedding to take place in<\/strong>. 3) the reception.<\/p>\n

\nAll of these plans were extremely difficult to work out<\/strong> right now, as you can imagine. It almost didn’t happen. Everything, and everyone kept changing due to the circumstances and state orders<\/strong>. They had to pull some strings to get the hall, and plan all of the catering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThese things are hard enough to do on any given day, let alone during Covid-19<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI’m still boggled about it.<\/p>\n

I wonder why?<\/h2>\n

\nWhy do it now? What’s the rush? After all, if you’re going to be married for the rest of your lives, why not wait a year?<\/p>\n

\nYou know, when it’s safer?<\/p>\n

\nWhen you don’t put all of your friends and family at risk?<\/p>\n

Is it worth it?<\/h2>\n

\nAnd even if everyone attends… Are they going to feel pressured<\/strong> into going? Feel awkward? Scared?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nMy friend told me that everyone wore a mask<\/strong> when they were walking about. They only removed them once they sat down…<\/p>\n

\nIt’s crazy to imagine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nEspecially since some people, no matter what, will NOT wear a mask<\/strong> (even if their life depends upon it).<\/p>\n

So what’s the results?<\/h2>\n

\nOdd pictures with guests and face masks?<\/strong> How bizarre. <\/p>\n

\nIf I were invited to a wedding right now, I probably wouldn’t go<\/strong>. It’s not that I’m frightened of getting the coronavirus, it’s just that I don’t want to up my odds. Why chance it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAll those people together, crammed into one room, breathing the same air, touching everything<\/strong>, coughing, sneezing…<\/p>\n

\nIt seems senseless to me.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI’d rather just send them money<\/strong> (that’s what they want anyway).<\/p>\n

Is it worth it to you?<\/h2>\n

\nWould you feel safe? Would it bother you in the least?<\/strong> Or is it just a young thing versus old thing?<\/p>\n

\nBecause all it takes is one person<\/strong> to ruin a wedding. Or your life.<\/p>\n

\nI mean, you could always elope<\/strong> if you’re that desperate. And then renew your vows<\/strong> next year, when the world is in a better state.<\/p>\n
