{"id":34800,"date":"2024-10-04T10:43:49","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T14:43:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/?p=34800"},"modified":"2024-10-04T10:43:49","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T14:43:49","slug":"how-men-and-women-shop-differntly-for-engagement-rings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/how-men-and-women-shop-differntly-for-engagement-rings\/","title":{"rendered":"HOW MEN AND WOMEN SHOP DIFFERNTLY FOR ENGAGEMENT RINGS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"blog-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/How-Men-And-Women-Shop-Differrently-For-Engagement-Rings.gif\" alt=\"HOW MEN AND WOMEN SHOP DIFFERNTLY FOR ENGAGEMENT RINGS\" title=\"HOW MEN AND WOMEN SHOP DIFFERNTLY FOR ENGAGEMENT RINGS\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-34801\" \/><\/div>\n<p>This is crazy of course, something that <strong>doesn\u2019t hold true for everyone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nBut for the most part, <strong>it\u2019s reality<\/strong>, and it\u2019s what&#8217;s happening today.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Men and women shop so differently<\/strong> when they pick out an engagement ring.<\/p>\n<p>\nAgain, this is not the law on buying rings, there are always exceptions&#8230; but it\u2019s<strong> my interesting opinion<\/strong> from working in the jewelry store for over 30 years.<\/p>\n<p><h2>How women shop:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Try on tons of rings<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pick out what\u2019s pretty<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Doesn\u2019t necessarily need to be a big center stone<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sees what it looks like in a mirror<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Likes to compare rings side-by-side<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Concerned by price (not going overboard)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wants to get her girlfriends reaction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><h2>How men shop:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Looks at the diamond chart<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Inspects the diamond certificate<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Is more interested in quality<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wants to buy a diamond big enough that he doesn\u2019t look cheap<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Goes over financing plans<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Views the stone under a microscope<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Puts the ring on his pinky to see how it looks<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Asks about the return policies, upgrades, exchanges, insurance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nAgain, don\u2019t come at me, these are just <strong>fun observations<\/strong> that are closer to the truth than not.<\/p>\n<p>\nMen will often go by the sales persons take, especially if it\u2019s a female. And they may even <strong>ask other women customers<\/strong> to help them decide. And every now and then they even will <strong>bring their mom in<\/strong> to help them pick out the ring (and mothers are generally <strong>much more conservative<\/strong> than men would be).<\/p>\n<p>\nWomen will take pictures, compare diamond shapes, look online, try on different sizes, <strong>see how it feels on their fingers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nSo it\u2019s always fun to learn <strong>what\u2019s important to each<\/strong>, and how they go about shopping for rings differently. Everyone has their own priority. <\/p>\n<p>\nAnd then, as many folks do nowadays, <strong>the couple will actually come in together<\/strong> to pick out their rings. And when that happens, it usually always comes down to one thing:<\/p>\n<p><h2>The visual appearance<\/h2>\n<p>\nShe wants it to look <strong>stunning<\/strong>, and wants it to stand out and sparkle (she may even be <strong>competing <\/strong>with her coworker&#8217;s ring).<\/p>\n<p>\nOften she will pick out <strong>her favorite ring or rings<\/strong>, and then turn it over to him to talk about buying, paying or financing. <strong>This works<\/strong>. So the real test here is, <strong>does it make her smile from ear to ear?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nThe ring that makes her smile the most, where she can\u2019t wipe the smile from her face, <strong>is the one to buy<\/strong>. That\u2019s the one she really wants, the one she falls in love with. You can see it in her eyes, <strong>you can hear it in her voice<\/strong>. So pick up on these visual clues. <strong>They\u2019re pretty obvious<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nBecause in the end, it\u2019s not always about <strong>the biggest and the best<\/strong>. It\u2019s what\u2019s perfect for her.
