As much as I’m always (always<\/strong>) saying, buy SI1 Clarity Diamonds<\/a> or higher, the truth is, you CAN get lower Clarity Diamonds<\/strong> (like SI2 and I1) that really do look just as good!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m Serious!<\/h2>\n

\nYou probably couldn’t tell them apart if they were side by side<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nSome stones are Low Clarity<\/strong> but still face up very well depending on where the Inclusions are, what type of Inclusions they are, and other factors like Cut<\/a>, Color<\/a>, and Carat Weight<\/a> (The bigger the Carat Weight, the more obvious the Inclusions are<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Compare Diamonds<\/h2>\n

\nSo, as an Example<\/strong>, let’s take a look at these two Diamonds below. Can you tell which Diamond is the VVS1<\/strong> and which Diamond is the SI2?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Did you figure it out?<\/h2>\n

\nIt’s not so easy<\/strong>. I’m guessing you did, because there are Some Visual Differences<\/strong>, but it’s not as much as you would think.<\/p>\n

\nThe VVS1 is on the left!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nVSS1 Clarity is at the TOP end<\/strong> of the Diamond Clarity Chart, while the SI2 is at the lower end<\/strong>. See the Diamond Color Chart below…<\/p>\n

\nThese two Diamonds are 5 Clarity Grades apart<\/strong>. That’s a lot! But they don’t look 5 Grades apart, that’s the important thing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Let’s Buy Low Quality Stones…<\/h2>\n

\nNow, you can’t just run out and buy any ole SI2 or I1 Diamond you want and think it’ll be okay<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

It Won’t!<\/h2>\n

\nYou have to view them<\/strong>. You need to see the stone at 10x Magnification<\/strong> (like the Diamonds on James Allen<\/a>) to see the Flaws and Imperfections in the stone. <\/p>\n

\nAnd believe me, SI2 and I1 Clarity will (99% of the time<\/strong>) have easy to see Flaws and Inclusions in them. That’s just the nature of Low Clarity Diamonds. They will!<\/strong> Especially Magnified Ten Times.<\/p>\n

\nBut often, these Flaws get so big and so noticeable that they stand out like a sore thumb<\/strong>. Just glance at the stones and you’ll see Lines, Cracks, Foggy Areas, Spots…<\/p>\n

“Hey, there’s a Black Spot in my Diamond!”<\/h2>\n

\nLike these Common Looking SI2 and I1 Stones<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

\nFlaws like those are common in Low Clarity Stones. That’s what you’d expect them to look like!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keep Looking…<\/h2>\n

\nBut, if you look long and hard enough, you WILL <\/strong>come across some SI2 and I1 Diamonds that DO face up more like an SI1 Diamond<\/strong> or higher.<\/p>\n

\nGranted, you’ll probably still see some Inclusions with the naked eye, but they aren’t so obvious<\/strong>, and most people looking at your stone would never see them. <\/p>\n
