I heard something the other day that sounded rather odd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nA woman was shopping in the jewelry store, trying on different pieces.<\/p>\n

\nShe said to me “I’ve always been a white gold person<\/strong>, but lately I’ve been looking at yellow gold<\/strong>. I’m thinking about switching!”<\/p>\n

\nWhat struck me as odd is the fact that I’ve never heard<\/strong> someone say this before.<\/p>\n

\nUsually women are switching from yellow gold<\/strong> (since yellow gold has dominated the market for over 50 years<\/strong>) and they’re making the move into white gold<\/strong>. But not the other way around.<\/p>\n

Could this mean that…<\/h2>\n

\nYellow gold is finally making a come back?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAfter losing ground and almost becoming extinct<\/strong>, just think about it… yellow gold, popular again?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCould it be? <\/strong>It’s too early to tell, but I am surprised by it.<\/p>\n

\nEverything you see in the stores today is white gold<\/strong>; rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets… There are only a few scatterings of yellow gold.<\/p>\n

White totally overpowers yellow.<\/h2>\n

\nTwo-tone jewelry is still popular<\/strong> though. Two-tone (yellow gold and white gold mixed) is a great way to merge the two colors of metals. With two-tone pieces, you can wear both yellow gold and white gold at the same time and they’ll look great together<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nI wore nothing but yellow gold for over 20 years<\/strong>. But guess what? Not anymore.<\/strong> For the last 5 years (I was slow to make that switch), I’ve been wearing all different types of white metals: tungsten, steel, titanium, platinum, white gold<\/strong>, and I love <\/strong>it.<\/p>\n

White grew on me.<\/h2>\n

\nI fell in love with all the new styles and designs. White metals totally revamped the men’s jewelry line (which desperately <\/strong>needed it). Now we have cool, modern pieces that guys actually like to wear<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nBut is this white metal era over?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Is this just a phase?<\/h2>\n

\nAre people getting ready to head back into yellow?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI don’t know.<\/strong> Who can say for sure… <\/p>\n

\nAs long as the industry is flooded with white gold, I don’t think it will be anytime soon. 5 years? 10 years?<\/strong> Maybe?<\/p>\n

\nOr it could be that this customer was a fluke?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nAre yellow days coming back?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nOr are you more interested in rose gold?<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll have to wait and see.<\/strong><\/p>\n
