Helzberg Jewelers<\/a> just recently started a gold buying program called “Helzberg diamonds gold purchase program<\/strong>” (their official jewelry store name is “Helzberg Diamonds<\/strong>“, they aren’t actually buying diamonds with this program).<\/p>\n

Helzberg has been around for over 104 years. They have 210 stores all across the county, so they are very well known and very reputable.<\/p>\n

Their program is simple. You send them your gold<\/strong>. They send you a check<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Easy as that!<\/strong><\/p>\n

But is it?<\/p>\n

I wanted to see if this program was fair, simple as they say, and what happens in the process… Hence, the purpose for this review<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I put Helzberg to the test.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Signing up…<\/h2>\n

Signing up for the program takes no time. You go to their website and select the “gold purchase program”. See below…<\/p>\n

It will take you to a page that talks about the program that says it’s as simple as 4 easy steps.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You’ll see a button that says “request a packet<\/strong>“…<\/p>\n

\n\"Request<\/p>\n

That’s what you want<\/strong>. That leads you to a sign up page<\/strong> on HelzbergGold.com<\/a>. Fill out the information and hit submit…<\/p>\n

They send you a email called request confirmation<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

As you can see from the image, the email tells you what to do once you get the packet.<\/p>\n

\n1)<\/strong> Ensure your info is correct. Remove your gemstones from your items (more on this later<\/strong>). Place your gold or platinum in the bag.<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> Put the bag in the prepaid preaddressed<\/strong> Fedex envelope.<\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> Call Fedex to pick up or drop off at a Fedex location. <\/p>\n

Helzberg makes it simple. It really is a no-brainer.<\/p>\n

The confirmation email also states that the Fedex package is prepaid and insured for up to $500<\/strong> against loss or damage. (So if you think your items may be worth more than $500, you may want to think twice about participating in this program.)<\/p>\n

The packet arrives<\/h2>\n

The packet Helzberg<\/a> sent me arrived within 2 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nIn the package was a Fedex package, a poly bag, a letter telling you about the program (pretty much what the confirmation email said<\/strong>), and a brochure.<\/p>\n

The letter has your Fedex tracking number<\/strong> printed right on the page, which is great if you ever need to track where it’s at (go to Fedex.com<\/strong> to track it).<\/p>\n

The back of the letter is quite funny. It’s an entire page of nothing but hard to read (small text) disclaimers. 14 of them. That’s enough to make my eyes water<\/strong>. Who ever reads those anyway?<\/p>\n

The enclosed brochure<\/h2>\n

\nKudos to Helzberg for putting together such a great looking full color brochure. Presentation is everything<\/strong>, right?<\/p>\n
