There are tons of places everywhere that you can sell your old Gold or scrap Gold to.
\nLiterally THOUSANDS<\/strong> of places, retail businesses, shops and online stores will Buy your Gold, Platinum or Silver<\/strong> for a Fair Scrap Metal Market Price.<\/p>\n

\nBut HOW <\/strong>do you know if you’re Getting the Best Deal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe only way to truly be sure…<\/p>\n

Is to Check around!<\/h2>\n

\nDon’t just settle on the first place <\/strong>that gives you a price. Spend an afternoon and travel around<\/strong> to all the local shops that buy Gold, and see what they offer.<\/p>\n

\nDo note that it doesn’t matter what condition the gold is in<\/strong>, because these places aren’t Buying the Gold to Resell it, they’re Scraping the Goods and Sending it to a Gold Refinery for Purification <\/strong>and Melt down.<\/p>\n

\nWhich means, they’ll Buy Broken Pieces<\/strong>, Bent Rings, Twisted Chains, Busted Clasps, even Bits and Pieces of Repairs (like Chunks left over from Ring Resizings<\/strong>). It’s just going into one Big Lump for Melt.<\/p>\n

But YOU have to do the Leg Work!<\/h2>\n

\nYou have to check out all the places to Find the Best Deals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nKeep in mind, the Gold market fluctuates DAILY<\/strong>, so if a store offers you $1,000 (as an example<\/strong>) for your Gold one day, they may offer you way less the next day when you go back.<\/p>\n

That’s just the way the Market goes!<\/h2>\n

\nSo I’ve put together some Tips to Help Ensure<\/strong> you get the most<\/strong> for your Jewelry. Here we go…<\/p>\n

Prices are for Gold ONLY!<\/h2>\n

\nThe prices they give you are ONLY for Gold<\/strong> (or Silver or Platinum… the actual Metals) and NOT the Stones<\/strong>, Gems or Diamonds in the Pieces. Places that state they Buy Gold, and only Gold, will give you Zilch for your Stones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nSo if you think the Stones are worth anything, have them removed from the Mountings first<\/strong>. That way you can either Resell them at a Jeweler, online (like Ebay or Craigslist<\/strong>), or use them as Trade-ins or set into other Pieces of Fine Jewelry.<\/p>\n

Test and Divide<\/h2>\n

<\nTest and Divide your Pieces up before hand<\/strong>. Keep all 14k items in one Pouch, 10k in another, Silver in another…<\/p>\n

\nThat way it’s easy for them to figure out and weight the items<\/strong>. Plus, you can get a break down on the items and know that everyone is Weighing and Pricing your Goods evenly<\/strong> and properly.<\/p>\n

\nUnderstand that just because an item is stamped 14k or 10k (or whatever the stamp may be<\/a>), that doesn’t actually mean that the item is what the marking says<\/strong>. Many pieces could be miss-marked<\/strong>, stamped wrong (to rip people off), or just be illegible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nNo matter, Test the items with Gold Testers<\/a>, (and weigh them with a Digital Scale<\/a>) or have a Jewelry Store do it for you to Guarantee that all the items in the Pouch are the same type of Metal and that they’re all REAL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nP.S. <\/strong>Often a Clasp will be 10k and the Chain itself will be 14k, you have to check both items!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLastly…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Check Around QUICKLY!<\/h2>\n

\nLike I said, the market changes often!<\/strong> If you wait too long, you’ll miss your Opportunity<\/strong> to Sell.<\/p>\n

\nAlso, don’t expect a lot of money<\/strong> unless you have a lot of decent Karat Weight or Gram Weight.<\/p>\n

\nThe more you have, the more you’ll get!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo go through your jewelry box, grab out all your old Rings, Brooches, Anklets, Earrings (even Earring Backs<\/strong>), and make your way to the Jewelry Stores, Antique Shops, and even the Coin Dealers<\/strong> (which is where the Best Prices<\/strong> are around me).<\/p>\n

\nAlso note that many Stores (Online and Real Stores) likes Helzberg <\/strong>(see my full review here<\/a>) Buys Gold as well<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nIf you need money, and you have a lot of Jewelry that you don’t wear just sitting around collecting dust, SELL THEM!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nTake advantage of the grand market. Go to 5 or 6 places and see who has the best offer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Some Stores Offer little or nothing for your Gold!<\/h2>\n

\nSome places offer way less than everyone else<\/strong> just because they may do less business than other stores. They could have less money on hand<\/strong> (maybe it’s Sunday and the banks are closed). They could just not be in need of 100 Grams of 10k<\/strong>… You just don’t know. It’s not that they’re ripping you off, it’s just that they may not be able to sell it that fast, or they just can’t afford it<\/strong>. The fact is, for places that buy from the public, you do need a lot of cash!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo check the Billboards, Newspapers, TV Commercials<\/strong>, Fliers, Advertisements, Shops, Stores, or even Ask your Friends and Family where they go. You won’t know until you check it all out<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nAnd do make sure you have a Photo ID with you<\/strong>. You’ll need it! Plus, do note that most places require that you be 18 or older<\/strong> to Sell Gold.<\/p>\n
