Some customers are nice<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Wayyyy too nice.<\/h2>\n

\nEspecially when they allow a salesperson to ramble on and on before they finally say they are not interested<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThis only becomes a waste of time for everyone.<\/p>\n

\nCase in point…<\/strong> A nifty, little, true story<\/strong> about a couple looking for a watch. Read and enjoy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Just a watch!”<\/h2>\n

\nA sales lady approaches a young Japanese couple as they enter the jewelry store<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe couple is holding hands and full of smiles and laughter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe sales lady says “Can I help you find something?<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\nThe couple nod their heads, smile and reply “Ahhh, just a watch.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\n“Right this way<\/strong>” the lady says and leads them over to the watch case. They follow her and start looking at watches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe sales lady pulls one watch out at a time talking about the different makes and models<\/strong> and prices and warranties. The couple smiles, nods, chats in Japanese<\/strong> between each other and continue to look.<\/p>\n

This goes on for 20 minutes<\/h2>\n

\nThe sales lady pulls pretty much every single watch<\/strong> out of the case for the couple to try on. They are no longer smiling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThe sales lady asks questions about what they like and don’t like. She only gets blank stares and shrugs. “You don’t like any of these watches?<\/strong>” she finally asks.<\/p>\n

\nThe couple chats again in Japanese and turns back to her. “Maybe you no understand<\/strong>” the guys says in choppy English, “We just a watch<\/strong>“. <\/p>\n

\nHe points to his eye then points around the store<\/strong>, then back to his eye again. “Just a watch<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

\nThe sales lady blushes and finally gets it. Embarrassed she says. “Oh… You just want to look.<\/strong>” <\/p>\n

\nShe opens her arms in a grand gesture around the room.<\/p>\n

\n“Yes<\/strong>” he smiles “Just a look.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

\nThe couple nods and starts moving around the store…<\/p>\n

The moral of the story<\/h2>\n

\nSometimes a watch is not always a watch.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nIt’s a good lesson to learn for all of us. <\/p>\n

\nThings like this happen and they happen all the time<\/strong>. Salespeople can be assertive and pushy<\/strong>. It’s a fact. <\/p>\n

\nIf you let them, they will try to sell you something that you don’t want to buy<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

So be careful.<\/h2>\n

\nThe best thing to do in these types of circumstances is to follow this young couple’s advice: Nod your head, smile, and simply walk away<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\nIn other words…<\/strong><\/p>\n
