Many Women already have a chain that they could hang a pendant on. You know, something a little thicker and more durable. If not, I could show you a couple of chains that would work perfectly for this diamond and it would only run you <strong>about another $50 bucks or so.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><h2>Yes, that line.<\/h2>\n<p>So I guess it&#8217;s not really a lie, most women do have chains already, and it would only cost them about $50 bucks more&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>But display purposes?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Well, I have to make something up don&#8217;t I?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>Make it sound better?<\/h2>\n<p><p>What&#8217;s funny about all of this is the fact that <strong>it&#8217;s not the jewelers fault.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nYou see, when jewelers order these diamond pendants from the vendors, they come with these fine, little chains already.<\/p>\n<p><h2>We don&#8217;t even like them.<\/h2>\n<p>\nThat&#8217;s how they come.<\/p>\n<p>The chains are <strong>frail, dainty, fall-apart-just-looking-at-them chains<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nSo if the jeweler decided to switch out that horrible worthless chain for a better, thicker chain, then they would actually <strong>lose money on the deal<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s <strong>not a good position to be in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nBesides, no matter what chain we did put on them, some people would like it, <strong>others wouldn&#8217;t<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>It&#8217;s a no-win situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nCustomers would want something different&#8230; so we leave it alone. <strong>Default seems to be the best option.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But here&#8217;s <strong>something important<\/strong> that you should know about these <strong>micro-thin chains<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><h2>Stay away from them!<\/h2>\n<p>\nTrust me. <strong>All it takes is a slight tug<\/strong> on those chains (ever held a baby?) and it would snap them in half. <\/p>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Chain-Clasps.jpg\" alt=\"The Best and Worst Chain Clasps\" title=\"The Best and Worst Chain Clasps\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8005\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Chain-Clasps.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Chain-Clasps-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Chain-Clasps-60x60.jpg 60w, https:\/\/www.jewelry-secrets.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Chain-Clasps-120x120.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><br \/>\nAnd <strong>even worse is the clasp on those fine chains<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s always those spring ring clasps that are very small, hollow, hard to hold, hard to open, and will bend and break easy. <\/p>\n<p>\nPlus, they aren&#8217;t even soldered onto the chain.<\/p>\n<p>\nA quick tug could open up that ring and drop your pendant to the floor. <\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Bye-bye diamond.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>Get a lobster clasp instead.<\/h2>\n<p>I do everything I can to steer customers away from these cheapo chains.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DO NOT BUY THEM!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nBuy <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2PdReft\">wheat chains<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2SmC9dm\">cable chains<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2SjLJxM\">rope chains<\/a> or <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2KMjBk7\">box chains<\/a> instead. Anything but this default last-2-days-only chain (see picture above for <strong>better chains to buy<\/strong>&#8230; <strong>not the fine chain.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>If you buy a diamond pendant or any kind of pendant, and it has this frail type of chain on it, <strong>don&#8217;t risk it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><h2>Upgrade!<\/h2>\n<p>\nBuy yourself a thicker and heavier chain that&#8217;s durable enough for normal everyday wear and tear. <\/p>\n<p>\nGet a chain that won&#8217;t kink and one that has a <strong>lobster clasp<\/strong> soldered to the end of it.<\/p>\n<p><h2>You won&#8217;t regret it.<\/h2>\n<p>Better chains and better clasps are all about <strong>protection<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>\nThey&#8217;ll keep you from losing your beautiful diamond pendant. <\/p>\n<p>\nAnd for the bucks you spend&#8230;<strong> it&#8217;s well worth the price. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And that&#8217;s no lie.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Cheers! :)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Why jewelers sell beautiful diamond pendants and hang them from these thin, frail, breakable, fine chains (that don&#8217;t even have a name) is beyond me.
