\nMaybe! But hear me out… <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI’m not saying don’t buy her a diamond ring<\/strong>… OH NO!<\/strong> I’m saying something even better<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the best way to save money when shopping for diamond engagement rings is to follow one glistening golden rule<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Less is more.<\/h2>\n

Let me explain…<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLet’s say you’re out shopping for a one carat solitaire<\/a>… Don’t buy it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n(I know, I know, one carat is the carat size that all women dream of<\/strong>… And you can’t blame them for that because it’s one hundred points of glorious diamond…)<\/p>\n

\nBut in order to save some money, you must think smaller.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n(A couple of points smaller to be exact.)<\/p>\n

\nYou see, if you look at buying a diamond a tad under the 1.00 carat mark<\/strong> (Like .93 – .99<\/strong> …as in these incredible diamonds here<\/a>), you’ll not only get a diamond that will look exactly the same size<\/strong> as a 1.00 carat diamond (she’ll never know<\/strong>), but it will cost you hundreds of dollars less.<\/p>\n

\"Compare<\/p>\n

\nPlus, if it’s within a couple of points (usually seven points<\/strong> one way or the other), then that diamond can still officially be called a one carat diamond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Win-Win.<\/h2>\n

\nMost people don’t know about this little secret. Most people go into the jewelry store looking for a “one carat diamond<\/strong>” and the salesperson is more than happy to bring out diamonds to show you that are at least one carat or bigger<\/strong> (usually bigger – they’re not stupid).<\/p>\n

\nSo it’s up to you to ask for diamonds a little under that one carat borderline.<\/p>\n

\n(You can almost hear the price dropping now<\/strong>…)<\/p>\n

Light carat weights<\/h2>\n

Most jewelers call these stones “light carat weights<\/a>” (once they cross that 1.00 carat line then the price goes up). And that’s great for you. Buying smaller keeps more money in your pocket<\/strong>. Who’s going to complain about that? It gives you more bucks to spend on the band, ring or mounting.<\/p>\n

More money is always a winner.<\/h2>\n

This little secret rule of thumb<\/strong> (less is more<\/strong>), works for all the main carat weights as well. Want to buy her a half carat<\/strong> (50 pts)? Then buy her a .45 instead. It’s cheaper.<\/strong> Want to buy her a 3\/4 carat<\/strong> (75 pts), buy her a 71 point diamond instead. They really do look the same. It’s impossible for anyone to tell the difference between a couple of points. I certainly can’t.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Picture this…<\/h2>\n

\nThrow a hundred pennies on the ground… Now throw 96 pennies on the ground next to them. Can you tell the difference between the two piles? NO! Not with the bare eye<\/strong>…. They’ll look just the same, I swear.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So if you want to save hundreds of dollars on a one carat diamond<\/strong>, think .93, .96 or .98 instead. <\/p>\n

\nYou’ll be loving the diamond, loving the savings, and laughing all the way to the bank… <\/p>\n
