Let me tell you something that’s probably NOT <\/strong>that Surprising…<\/p>\n

\nPeople don’t like to Shop for Loose Diamonds!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThey don’t! <\/p>\n

\nIt’s not easy to shop for a Loose Stone and then to look for a Ring or Mounting to put it in. <\/p>\n

\nMost people can’t Visualize!<\/strong> They want to see the finished piece NOW!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSo instead of buying a High Quality Loose Certified Diamond, they’ll buy a pre-made Ring with a Lower Quality and Smaller Carat Weight instead!<\/p>\n

\nAnd I’m here to say:<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHY?<\/h2>\n

\nThis isn’t really the BEST <\/strong>way to buy an Engagement Ring!<\/p>\n

\nAnd that’s because that most pre-made Rings are NOT Certified<\/strong> (or at least not Certified by GIA or AGS – the Only TWO that Count!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\nMost pre-made rings are listed as one combined Carat Weight (Carat Total Weight<\/strong> – so it sounds like you’re getting a BIG DIAMOND<\/strong>), but are made up of tons and tons of really tiny Diamonds.<\/p>\n

\nAnd most Pre-Made Diamond Rings are not very unique<\/strong> either. They are Cookie-Cutter Rings<\/strong> that every other store has, and every other Bride is Wearing! <\/p>\n

AND…<\/h2>\n

\nIt’s much harder to Judge the Quality of pre-set Diamonds. You CAN’T scope them easily. And even if you could peer through the stone under a Microscope, chances are, the Prongs and Mounting are covering up part of the Stone and possibly also hiding a Chip or Flaw.<\/p>\n

How would you know?<\/h2>\n

\nYou really wouldn’t!<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nThe BEST <\/strong>way to shop for an Engagement Ring, is to Buy the Stone LOOSE first<\/a> (and I only recommend GIA or AGS Certified Stones<\/strong>). And then have it set into a Classic Tiffany Style Ring<\/a> (and I’ll tell you why in a second, but the Tiffany Style is the Traditional <\/strong>and BEST Ring to Propose with!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\nGiving her a Tiffany Style Mounting does 2 things:<\/strong> It doesn’t Ruin the SURPRISE<\/strong> of getting Engaged (because you won’t be asking her what she likes, or taking her Shopping)… AND, after you Propose, you can bring her back into the store for her to pick out the REAL Mounting<\/strong> (unless she wants to keep it in the Tiffany). That’s the IDEAL Way! <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nShe can then pick out what style she really likes (get the ring of her dreams<\/strong>), and get it fitted and sized at the same time.<\/p>\n

It’s a win-win situation!<\/h2>\n

\nAnd just about every Jeweler has Semi-Mounts in stock!<\/strong> (If you’re looking at their website, just do a search for “Semi-Mount<\/strong>“)<\/p>\n

\nA Semi-Mount is just the Mounting with Side Stones (or no stones), but with NO Center Stone!<\/strong> It’s blank! These are the types of Mountings that you’ll need for a Solitaire or Loose Diamond<\/strong> to fit in. <\/p>\n

Awesome, aren’t they?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe Salesman can help you with a setting that Compliments the Size and Shape <\/strong>of your Stone. They can also advise on the right size of head (prongs) that you’ll need for the stone, and to make sure that you get the proper finger size<\/strong> as well (for if you size the ring before she gets it, and it’s wrong, then you’ll be paying MORE<\/strong> to resize it, and many times, after a ring is sized or engraved, YOU CAN’T RETURN IT!<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\nDoing it this way generally gets you a Higher Quality Center Stone<\/strong>. You can make sure that the Stone isn’t Chipped<\/strong>. And, she gets to pick out the Mounting she Wants!<\/p>\n

Everyone’s Happy!<\/h2>\n

\nBut most importantly, BOTH of you<\/strong> were a part of the Decision Process, and you didn’t Ruin the Surprise!<\/strong><\/p>\n
