What is an anniversary band?<\/h2>\n

\nWell, it’s basically a ring that you buy your better half to celebrate your wedding anniversary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

You can buy a ring for any anniversary<\/strong> as well. It doesn’t matter if it’s the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 17th or 25th.<\/p>\n

Big years?<\/h2>\n

\nNo, it doesn’t need to be one of those “big<\/strong>” milestone years either. It just depends on the particular year that you decide you want to buy her another ring. That’s all.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What exactly makes an anniversary ring? <\/p>\n

\nIs it the style?<\/strong> The look<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

The amount of diamonds?<\/h2>\n

\nThe metal?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\nI would have to say it’s all <\/strong>of the above, and none <\/strong>of the above…<\/p>\n

Anniversary rings<\/a> can really be anything you want them to be. 14kt yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum? Absolutely.<\/strong> Any metal works fine except for silver, which is too soft to hold diamonds<\/strong> (that’s why many silver rings have CZ’s in them).<\/p>\n

Many of you know there are standard types of anniversary bands on the market. The most popular rings are channel set rings<\/strong>, and the past-present-future<\/strong> 3 diamond rings.<\/p>\n

They make great bands…<\/h2>\n

And then you have diamond cluster rings (some look Like raised pyramids<\/strong>). They all work excellent as well, marquise bands, pave set diamonds<\/strong>, two-tone rings, the styles are endless. Any ring or band<\/strong> can be used as an anniversary ring too.<\/p>\n

You see, it all comes down to preference.<\/h2>\n

\nThe only golden rule<\/strong> that I know of, is that it needs to contain diamonds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamonds stand for the endurance of love<\/strong> (say I do<\/strong> all over again). <\/p>\n

\nDiamonds work perfect for any type of ring; promise ring<\/a>, wedding, bridal, eternity ring<\/a> or anniversary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The type of ring you choose is all based upon your likes and dislikes, as well as your partners. If it doesn’t fit into the conventional style… Who cares? <\/p>\n

When you’re out shopping for anniversary rings<\/a>, here are a couple of tips:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Watch the prong count.<\/h2>\n

\nAnniversary bands are notorious <\/strong>for containing a lot of diamonds and a lot of prongs<\/strong>. The more prongs you have, the more problems you’ll have later. Prongs snag, bend, break off, wear down and will cost you a pretty penny. The fewer the prongs, the better (which is why I always lean towards channel set rings<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Also, try not to get an anniversary ring that overpowers her engagement ring<\/strong> or wedding ring either. The bridal set should always be the focal point.<\/p>\n

Where will it be worn?<\/h2>\n

\nIf you get an anniversary ring, the first thing you’ll have to decide is what finger you are going to wear it on. That will also help you decide on which style to buy. Some ladies will wear them in front of their wedding set (closest to your fingertips). Just make sure it fits flush against your other rings without any huge gaps.<\/p>\n

Many ladies prefer to wear the ring on their right hand<\/strong> instead. <\/p>\n

\nI usually advise this because it will not limit the type of band, or size, you get. Every ring is different, you’ll just have to try them on to see what looks best.<\/p>\n

Now as far as the amount of diamonds<\/strong> go… it doesn’t matter.<\/p>\n

\nNor does it matter what carat weight<\/strong> they are. Just strive to get something that you like and something that you’ll enjoy…<\/p>\n

Because you may be wearing this anniversary ring for a long, long time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(Guys usually only buy one of these.)<\/h2>\n
