The first thing you should know<\/strong> about diamonds may be surprising. <\/p>\n

It’s not the quality.<\/h2>\n

\nIt’s not the 4C’s<\/a>, cut<\/a>, color<\/a>, clarity<\/a> and carat weight<\/a>. It’s not even the certification<\/a> or price<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nIt’s this fact:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diamonds are deceiving.<\/h2>\n

It’s true<\/strong>. To most people, at first glance, all diamonds look the same. <\/p>\n

\nUnless the diamonds actually have some major cracks or black spots<\/strong>, all diamonds will pretty much look similar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This factor makes it hard for some people to understand why one diamond is priced more than another diamond of the exact same carat weight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They all look alike.<\/h2>\n

\nOnce you realize that they look similar, but aren’t<\/strong>, you can open yourself up to learn more about the quality and the 4C’s.<\/p>\n

Diamonds are small to begin with. Inclusions are even smaller<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\nNot to mention the fact that most inclusions or flaws are so small they’re microscopic only<\/strong>. You can barely see them under a microscope<\/a> or a 10x jeweler’s loupe<\/a>. No wonder why they look comparable.<\/p>\n

But they’re not.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All diamonds are different.<\/h2>\n

They may have small differences, like a 2% larger table<\/strong> or an extra facet, or a wavy girdle, but they’re there. <\/p>\n

\nThese little differences can add up big time. One dot, one pinpoint, one line is all it takes. There could be other things too, like a stone that has a large culet<\/a>, or one with a high depth percentage, or even a diamond with fluorescence<\/a>, but there are characteristics, traits, differences.<\/p>\n

These may not change the outer appearance of the diamond much either. You might be able to detect a little bit more fire and brilliance<\/strong> in the stone, but the difference is there. More than likely, you will need to microscope the diamond to see. <\/p>\n

The microscope doesn’t lie.<\/h2>\n

\nThe microscope will show you the inside world of a diamond<\/strong>. The inclusions, nicks, trigons, uneven table, misaligned facets, polish and grain lines… All these things add up.<\/p>\n

Appearances are deceiving.<\/h2>\n

Two diamonds side by side can be totally different in price. Thousands of dollars different<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\nWhen this happens, it should be like a light bulb going off in your head<\/strong>. It should tell you that you do need to look harder. Delve deeper<\/strong>. Learn more. Understand the 4C’s and why there is a difference.<\/p>\n

Diamonds aren’t really deceiving.<\/h2>\n

\nWe are only deceiving ourselves into thinking that they are. <\/p>\n

\nSo open your eyes. <\/p>\n

\nStudy diamonds<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\nDiamonds are all unique, just like you, just like me.<\/p>\n
