The first time I ever saw a 24k gold dipped long stem rose<\/a>, I said to myself…<\/p>\n

What the heck?<\/h2>\n

It looked like a blob of gold<\/strong>. I won’t lie.<\/p>\n

At first glance, the rose looked so shiny that I couldn’t even tell what it was.<\/p>\n

Only after closer inspection could I see that it resembled a rose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Is it a real rose?<\/h2>\n

Our jewelers actually took one of these gold roses and put it to the test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They had to prove the validity<\/strong> of the claim, right? <\/p>\n

\nSo is it a real rose?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I thought that the jeweler would carefully cut a small unnoticeable section of the rose so we could peek inside…<\/p>\n

NOPE!<\/h2>\n

\nHe took the rose and bashed it up against the jeweler’s desk<\/strong> as hard as he could.<\/p>\n

I about crapped my pants<\/strong>. Pieces of the stem broke off, a leaf went flying and sections of the destroyed petal hung loose.<\/p>\n

So much for that rose.<\/p>\n

So what was inside?<\/h2>\n

A real natural rose with a 12″ stem.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Believe it or not, there really was a genuine rose inside the shell. I was impressed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I could actually see the veins in the rose and the details of the leaves<\/strong>. If you look close enough you can see them in the gold or enamel, too.<\/p>\n

Every rose is different.<\/h2>\n

No two roses will look the same. AND… Since a lot of companies now make these gold dipped roses, they will all look different as well. Some will be more globbier than others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I have seen some really bad gold roses (like the initial one I saw), and I’ve seen some beautiful gold dipped roses<\/strong> like the one shown below. You may want to check different sources out and see who carries the best looking ones.<\/p>\n

Gold roses sell like hot cakes<\/h2>\n

The first couple of years or so, gold roses (and also the Silver<\/strong> and platinum plated<\/strong> roses) took the industry by storm. We couldn’t keep these roses in stock. We actually had to order months in advance<\/strong> (Valentine’s stock had to be ordered in October). We had no choice<\/strong>. We couldn’t run out of roses for Sweetest day or the big one: Mother’s day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some people love these roses, others sneer. One customer actually said, and I quote:
\n“They look like something you would see at a funeral in an Elvis chapel.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Love them or hate them,<\/strong> that’s the way it goes.<\/p>\n

Gold rose prices<\/h2>\n

On average gold dipped roses sell from anywhere between $69<\/strong> and $99<\/strong>. It all depends on the company and the process. Like I said, some roses will look better than others. If you buy cheap ones, they will look cheap and tacky. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe awesome thing about these roses, is the fact they do come in a nice little presentation box (some with a cut-out window), which looks cool and helps protect the rose at the same time.<\/p>\n

Gold rose vases<\/h2>\n

\n\"Gold<\/a>One thing I will mention, is that you should pick up a vase for the rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These roses are pretty top heavy<\/strong> and may tip over if you put them in a regular flower vase that’s not properly weighted. Gold rose vases are flat on the bottom and thick so that they keep the rose standing upright. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Prices on vases will vary. Usually they run around $9.00<\/strong> to $15.00<\/strong>. Every manufacturer will have different looking vases and some even have a gold rose right on the vase.<\/p>\n

Gold \/ Platinum Rose Buds<\/h2>\n

\n\"Platinum<\/a>They also make rose buds, which are roses that aren’t open yet (not in full bloom<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

These are pretty cool. They are dainty and smaller than the full sized roses and tend to not look so gaudy.<\/p>\n

You can get them in both 24kt pure gold<\/strong> and also silver<\/a> or platinum dipped<\/a>. Take a look at the picture.<\/p>\n

Prices on these usually start around $69<\/strong> and up.<\/p>\n

I like the rose buds, but…<\/p>\n

\nThere is something better.<\/p>\n

Lacquer dipped gold trim 24k roses<\/h2>\n

Lacquer or enameled roses are genuine roses that have been enameled with different colors and then trimmed with pure gold around the edges of the petals and leaves.<\/p>\n

I love lacquer dipped roses.<\/strong> I like the colors, I like that you can see the rose and details better, I think they stand out more and look 1,000% better<\/strong> than their gold predecessors.<\/p>\n
