I am a big big fan of locking back earrings<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Especially if you have expensive diamond stud earrings.<\/p>\n

\nNO ONE WANTS TO LOSE THOSE!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFor years I’ve been selling La Pousette earring backs<\/a>. La Pousette is awesome.<\/strong> They are very durable and I have never had a problem with them. <\/p>\n

\nIn fact, I brag about them all the time, and even wrote an entire post<\/a> about them back in 2008<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

BUT…<\/h2>\n

\nI actually do have 4 slight issues<\/strong> with La Pousette…<\/p>\n

  1. It’s tough to push both sides<\/strong> of the locking system at the same time<\/li>\n
  2. They are very hard to hold and you’re always dropping<\/strong> the slippery dome shaped donuts<\/li>\n
  3. They’re expensive.<\/strong> They usually start at $75-$100<\/strong> a pair<\/li>\n
  4. You have to swap<\/strong> out your regular posts for special La Pousette posts that have grooves in them<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \nThese issues are not really a big deal.<\/strong> It only takes minutes for a qualified jeweler to put the new posts on, and you will get used to holding the backs as you use them over time. <\/p>\n

    \nI LOVE THEM!<\/strong> And I’ve never heard of anyone losing an earring due to them.<\/p>\n

    BUT…<\/h2>\n

    \nNow… There is something better.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \nThese new high-tech locking earring backs are called: Chrysmela catch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    \nThe really cool thing<\/strong> about these locking backs is this: You don’t need to switch out your earring posts.<\/strong> They work with most standard posts<\/strong> on the market (because no one likes to hand over their $6,000 diamonds to a jeweler, just saying<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

    \nThe locking mechanism is longer, tube shaped, so they are easier to grasp and hold<\/strong>. They just slide onto your earring post like a normal earring back. <\/p>\n

    \nYou slide them on, and they automatically lock.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

    \nAnd to unlock <\/strong>them, you simply hook your fingernail under the end of the disk<\/strong> and the back pulls off. <\/p>\n
