“What’s the diff?”<\/h2>\n

\nWhat is the difference between family rings<\/strong> and mother’s rings?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThat’s a good question that deserves an answer. <\/p>\n

\nAnd luckily, that answer is pretty simple<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

Family rings:<\/h2>\n

\nFamily rings are generally rings that hold family member’s birthstones<\/strong>. It could be any family members, immediate or distant; grandparents<\/strong>, mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, grand kids, step kids<\/strong>, aunts, uncles… Any family member that you love and cherish could be put in a family ring. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see some people put their pet’s birthstones<\/strong> in these rings too. :)<\/p>\n

\nFamily rings will often be the exact same styles and designs as Mother’s rings<\/a> are, just with family gemstones versus only kids. Some rings will even have their engraved names<\/strong> directly on the ring itself, as shown in the family ring below…<\/p>\n

Mother’s rings:<\/h2>\n

\nMother’s rings usually only have her kid’s birthstones<\/strong> in the ring and nothing else.<\/p>\n

\nSometimes the father (who usually buys this kind of ring with the kids, and usually as a Mother’s Day<\/strong> gift) will put the mother’s birthstone in the ring as well. But 9 times out of 10, it’s just the kids, as seen below…<\/p>\n

Recommended birthstones:<\/h2>\n

\nThere are a wide variety of stones that can be used for these types of rings. I always recommend genuine stones<\/strong> versus fake or synthetic stones. They’ll look better and last longer.<\/strong> I also recommend faceted gemstones<\/strong> versus organic stones or fragile stones (Such as pearl, opal and tanzanite).<\/p>\n
