You Can't Compare Diamond Carat Weight Easily

What do I mean “You Can’t Compare Carat Weights?”

“SURE YOU CAN!”

But… Not as Easily as you’d Think!

Let’s say for Example, you go to one Jewelry Store to Shop for an Engagement Ring. They have a 71 Point (.71 CT) Round Diamond, SI1 Clarity, I Color, Selling for $2,000!

You now go to another Jeweler to Shop and Compare Stones and Prices.

They Don’t have a 71 Point Diamond on hand, but they do have a .76 Carat Diamond with Better Color!

Bigger and Better!

Sounds Awesome, doesn’t it?

The only Problem is, it’s $1,000 MORE!

OUCH!

Shopping and Comparing Carat Weights can be Quite Difficult, because in order to really Match up Exact Stones, you’d have to Carry Every Single Conceivable Carat Weight. Not to Mention Every Color, Cut Grade, Shape, Clarity Grade, Polish, Symmetry, Crown Height and Fluorescent Diamond there is… ON EARTH!

Every Carat Weight .01 Carat through 3,106.75 Carats (The Largest Diamond Ever Found).

The Possibilities are Endless!

So when you Ask for a .71 Carat, SI1, I, you’ll see that they have an .85 Carat, SI1, H, or a .70 Carat, VS2, I… But NOT an SI1, I!

Why is this?

Because all Stores have Limited Diamond Quantities in Stock. In Fact, most Jewelry Stores carry less than 50 Certified Diamonds on hand. So the Odds of Finding a Perfect Match with your Exact Criteria are Slim to None!

And if the Carat Weight is off, or the Clarity or Color is Different, then the Diamond Itself could be Hundreds and Thousands of Dollars More or Less.

Is that a Fair Comparison?

NOPE!

And, even if they have a Diamond that’s Close in Size, it could be Considered a Light Carat-Weight and still be a Vast Difference in Price. See below…

So you won’t know which Store is really Giving you the Better Deal.
