Pride Month is for the LGBTQ+ community (also known as the “Queer Community” or “Rainbow Community”); Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning.

Pride month is celebrated every year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. Originally celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” it remained flexible and soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events.
