BIG DIAMONDS – BIG DEALS

Everyone wants a big diamond…

And by ‘big‘, I’m talking about really big carat weights, like 2.00 carat, 3.00 carat, 4.00 carat, 5.00 carat, 6.00+ carats…

These sizes are extreme, rare, and ultra-expensive.

But there are tricks and tips to keeping the costs down (as low as possible).

And the #1 way is to:

Let your eyes be the judge.

Meaning, look at the stone, see how it faces up (regardless of the color, clarity, or cut). Because with large diamonds, most of them are not top of the line anyway (Mother Nature is far from perfect).

Usually with larger stones, it’s all about looks. Most are going to have eye-visible flaws (the stones get so large it’s almost impossible to hide inclusions). Most are going to have a yellow hue (the larger the diamond, the more the color shows). These are common traits in large diamonds. It’s pretty much expected (unless you want to spend an arm and a leg).

But even lower quality large diamonds are still quite pricey (all because of size). No way around that. But if you don’t worry so much about the quality, and just go by sight, you’ll actually find many great looking stones that will shave thousands off the price tag.

Big diamonds do show more flaws and more color. It’s easier to see everything because the diamond is so big. So don’t worry about it. It’s normal and very few diamonds escape these identification traits (unless you really want to spend $100,000 like these diamonds here).

So use your eyes.
