I get endless Questions about Unidentified Stamps inside of Rings.
ENDLESS!
So much so that I had to literally say “I am no longer taking questions about Marks or Stamps inside the Ring“. Really, it’s pretty insane!
And even though I’ve made a long list of the Most Popular Stamps Here, it hasn’t slowed down the entries…
I still get questions daily. And I also see a ton of Questions Regarding Stamps (or Marks) in my Google Analytics. Things like:
- “ev” jewelry stamp?
- gr marking on ring?
- .3 al stamp in ring?
- m within heart arrow ring stamp?
- What does 8c89 mean stamped on Jewelry?
- Does an l stamped on a ring mean anything?
- What does 4862 mean on the inside of my ring?
- What does it mean if a ring is marked with jc?
- What does at fl-e mean on the inside of a ring?
So what I’ve did is put together a list of Stamps that need identifying. I don’t know what these mean, so I’m turning to you for help.
If you know what the true meanings are of these markings, let me know. Email me and I will add in the correct meaning. That way, we all know!
I do believe most of these are probably Manufacturer’s Stamps, Logos, or Jeweler’s Initials. Hence, a lot of these will be forever unknown.

I can’t identify this ring I have. It’s a 9ct rose gold rind with the marking WD inside the ring and then there’s a big HB on the front in fancy lettering…. Please help ;)
Hi Carmen. I’ve had no luck either trying to identify the WD mark. I have added it to the list. The HB I don’t understand because it’s on the Front? More than likely just an Engraving of someone’s Monogram. -Richard
Hello, My name is Willie Davidson and I graduated from Gemology in 1994, I used the stamp WD on all of my pieces, however I don’t remember a H.B. monogrammed piece. I made hundreds of rings either at the college or the jewelry store I apprenticed at so its possible I forgot. Is it possible to see the ring through g-mail? I would be able to positively identify it as mine if I could see it and answer your questions at the same time. My ring is beautiful..but apparently NOT real stones..so the next thing I checked was the inside of the band and it just has a LP with a circle around it..?? It’s silver in color but no 925 or anything??

I received a gift which is a necklace with PAJ BR China stamped inside. I found out from people asking on Google that PAJ is the manufacturer Prime Art and Jewel, and I know the necklace is made in China. But I can’t find out what does BR mean yet. Do you know? I saw many saying that they have BB but not BR, and they said BB is the silver tone used; is that true?
I’ve read before that the “A” with circle around it is from Avon… (so is it really an engagement ring?)
There seem to be a LOT more questions than answers here– it seems ‘maker’s marks’ are as numerous as the craftspeople who made jewelry, and apparently no authoritative directory to catalog them…
The BR marking on your jewelry stands for Brass rhodium. Rhodium is a precious metal that is in the family of platinum. For rhodium plated jewelry, it involves plating the jewelry with a surface that guards against scratches that also gives a reflective white appearance.Hope this helps.

Bridal set that both say TM316
This “TM316” indicates that these rings are 316 grade, non-tarnishing, stainless steel.
I have a ring, it looks like band that goes around another, four diamonds, not sure if real it is stamped with the word ring, or rino, I can’t really tell. I don’t know where ring came from.
I found a pretty funky ring about 7 years a go and it turned up today, after trying to figure out what it was worth I decided to check the stamps. It has two stamps on the inside. One “925” for silver. And another which is either “70S” or “Z0S”, what would that mean? Thanks.

ring is 1/4 and I can’t find out what it means.

PS There are no diamonds or other stones in the ring.
I’m pretty sure Anything with a fraction on it means its plated. I have a neckless that has 1/20 12k on it and it means its plated with 12k gold. Its the only legal way they can say GOLD and sell it as GOLD BUT THEY DONT TELL YOU ITS PLATED AND NOT WORTH THE HIGH PRICE THEY SELLING IT FOR!!!
