What Brings People Into Jewelry Store?

Top 12 Reasons

I thought I would be Interesting to List off the Top 12 Reasons Why People Shop at Jewelry Stores.

You might think it’s a No-Brainer!

For Jewelry, right?

But, that’s not the Overall Picture I’m trying to Paint.

It’s WHY People go to the Jewelers. There’s usually a Very Specific Reason why.

And here they are…

1) Engagement Rings

Engagement Rings really are the #1 Reason why Jewelers are in Existence. Engagement Rings and Wedding Bands.

People are always getting Engaged and Married (and Divorced), and it’s the Beautiful Sets and Solitaires that keep Jewelers afloat.

It’s this Bridal Industry that really Fuels Loose Certified Diamond Sales and Classic Metals like: White Gold, Yellow Gold and Platinum.

Engagement Rings are #1.

2) Christmas

Christmas is the biggest Jewelry giving Holiday there is (And Insane from December 10th-24th). Stores Run out of Items like Crazy. Things Fly out of there like Hot Cakes.

Fancy Colored Diamonds were at the Top of the Gift Giving List these Past Two Christmases (2011-2012).

But really, anything Sparkly and Beautiful will do the Trick.

There is nothing like opening up a Small Package under the Colored Lights of the Christmas Tree. You’ll make her Melt!

Christmas is Good for any type of Jewelry: Watches, Gemstones, Diamond Merchandise, Chains, Bracelets, Anklets, Chokers, Broaches, Cocktail Rings…

It’s Endless what will go in those little Jewelry Boxes!

Is that a Tear in her Eye?

Probably So! HO HO HO!

3) Batteries

A Good Amount of People who Venture into Jewelry Stores do so to get the Cell in their Watch Replaced.

Watch Batteries are Best Left for the Experts, the Jewelers who have the Specialized Tools, like Case Back Removers, Tiny Screw Drivers, Tweezers, Gasket Sealers, Wrenches, and of course, the tons of Batteries in every Shape and Size.

Batteries brings in a lot of People in the Door to get them done while they Browse and Wait (like Saturdays). You could be changing Watch Batteries for Hours on end.

What Time is it?

Time to get a New Battery… and a New Pendant while you’re at it! :)

4) Repairs

Repairs on Jewelry are Endless! The Baby Grabs your Chain and Pulls… It Breaks in 2 Pieces.

You Smack a Prong on the Filing Cabinet and it Bends Sideways…

The Head on your Diamond gets Worn Down and Snags. It needs to be Retipped!

Repairs like Straightenings, Tightenings, Solderings, New Shanks, and Sizings are an Every Day Occurrence.

Jewelry takes a lot of Abuse and thankfully, they can be Repaired or Fixed by a Goldsmith to make look Brand New again.

If the Clasp Breaks on your Pendant, where do you go?

The only place to go…

The Jewelry Store!

5) Cleaning and Inspections

Jewelry looks Best when it’s Cleaned and Polished.

Taking your Rings and items in 2-3 times a Year to have them Cleaned and Inspected keeps your Jewelry up-to-date (many Stores also Require this Routine for their Warranty).

It allows the Jeweler to Maintain your Jewelry Properly!

Preventive Medicine!

If your Diamond is Loose, they can Catch it before it Falls out and gets Lost.

If your Prong is Cracked, Jewelers can Repair them before they Snap off all together.

People should get in the Habit of taking their items into the Store to have a Professional Inspect them, even if they don’t think there’s anything Wrong with them. You never know!

Because one Missed Cleaning could become One Missed Certified Diamond!

And that Sucks!

One person once said to me, Get in the Habit of having your Rings Cleaned when Daylight Savings Time Begins and Ends… I think that’s a Pretty Good Idea!

But if I were you, I would do it MORE! Every Couple of Months or so. Bring it in JUST IN CASE!

6) Birthdays

Birthdays bring a lot of people in. Jewelers are always the Perfect Place to Stop for the Perfect Birthday Gift.

Especially a Piece of Jewelry with a Lovely Birthstone Gemstone! :)

The Gem of the Month is…

People love to Buy Diamond Studs, Gemstone Rings, Gold Necklaces, Pendants, Charms, and Bracelets for that Special Birthday Someone.

March: Aquamarine September: Sapphire

June: Pearl – Alexandrite – Moonstone December: Blue Topaz – Blue Zircon – Tanzanite

Jewelers usually stock up on the Birthstone’s a Month or two before they are Due. That way, you’ll have Lots to Choose from! ;)

12) Class Rings

The Last Huge Item that Brings People into the Store… Class Rings!

Jewelers usually carry one of the Big Class Ring Lines: Art Carved, Balfour, Gold Lance, Jostens.

As well as Custom Designer Rings, College Rings and Sports Rings!

Ordering one with a Jeweler is Fast and Easy!

They will help you look at the Plentiful Designs, go over all the Different Options and Colors and Metal Choices with you. They’ll show you Examples of Rings that you can try on. They’ll Size your Finger and Write up all the Info Pretty Quickly.

All that’s Required is a Down Payment to get the Ball Rolling (usually 20%).

The Great Thing about Ordering a Class Ring from a Jeweler… You don’t miss anything!

They’ll make sure you get the Correct Gemstone (Faceted, Smooth, Starburst), they’ll be able to get you Class Colors right (is that Red or Maroon?), and the Correct Mascot for your School…

They’ll be able to set up Engraving Inside the Band, and make sure that a Wider Ring will Fit you Properly in the End (Very Important Process, but, just so you know, most Class Ring Manufacturers will Size your Ring FREE for Lifetime!).

Jewelers are the Perfect Place to Shop for Class Rings. And they usually have the Best Deals and Promotions on these as well.

So there you go…

These are the Top 12 Reasons Why People Shop at Jewelry Stores!

And you thought it was just for Jewelry!

Cheers! :)
