3 Carats are HUGE!
Huge, huge diamonds that take up a good chunk of your finger are always a dream come true.
They are spectacular!
But there are a few things about diamonds this size that most people don’t know, and will find out quickly:
Good Quality is Rare!
Anytime you get into stones 1.50 carat or larger, the diamonds get harder and harder to find in high clarity and high color. It’s almost unheard of.
And you know why?
Because huge diamonds really are that rare… And expensive!
For a decent 3 carat diamond, of standard color and clarity (SI1, G) sells for around $40,000 (see 3 carat, SI1, G, diamonds here at James Allen).
That’s why most people that own a huge diamond, usually get lower clarity or lower color diamonds (Like I1, J – See these diamonds here at James Allen).
These diamonds are much more affordable (although they do have inclusions you can see with the bare eye). It’s almost impossible to get diamonds that don’t have these flaws (because the diamonds are so large and easy to see inside).
But, if you shop and compare enough diamonds, you can find ones that face up much better than others.

What I love about this stone is not only how clean the center of this diamond is (even under magnification), but it has TONS of sparkle and brilliance (it’s triple excellent cut with zero fluorescence), and…
The Price is Dirt Cheap!
For a 3 carat diamond, to get anything under $20,000 (of any quality) is a steal.
And this diamond sells for just $17,990
The reason this diamond is low, is because of that one good sized white inclusion in the 9:00 o’clock position (go back up and see). That inclusion sits near the edge of the girdle and is visible… You can’t miss it!
But here’s a trick…
All you have to do is to have a jeweler put a prong over that inclusion, and the prong will hide just about all of it. Meaning, this diamond will face up wonderfully and no one will ever be the wiser. They won’t see it!
It’s a great trick that is common with jewelers, and just makes the diamond look better!
So it’s a Great Find and a Great Deal!
But it won’t last long. Diamonds like this sell really, really fast. Usually quicker than I can post.
So if you truly want a huge diamond, at a low affordable price, then snatch this up…
For it really is a Beautiful Steal!
