Richard ~ I’m a little befuddled by one point ~ is the “cut” good, or ideal? The graphic says that it is “Good” but later in your description, you said it’s “Ideal” and on the James Allen site, it doesn’t even list the cut quality, so I’m not sure what you mean?
I do agree wholeheartedly that this is a magnificent stone, all things considered, and for that ridiculously low price, especially!! I’m truly amazed they can offer such a beautiful piece for such a price! That’s enough to put me off round diamonds completely, actually! I already have preferred cushion cuts to rounds for ages, and I would even without the price break, but this Princess cut wins the “Internet” for me any day! In fact, Princess cuts used to not appeal to me AT all, because I just preferred more rounded shapes, but I’d not turn down this beautifully done stone in any mounting! I’d prefer a simple solitaire though, to let this one carry the day all by itself ~ it certainly is up to the task!
(And didn’t I tell you that not all characteristics had to be top of the mark, to be a gorgeous stone? ;-) This is an “I told ya so” moment, but I’ll let it slide, since you did so well with it!!)
Yep, you’re right. I always set the Cut Grade Selection to “IDEAL” when I do Diamond Searches, and sometimes their Selection Tools go back to Default when you Shuffle back and forth looking at Diamonds. And this one I missed! Good Catch! (I’ve Updated my Post) The Next Closest Diamond with an “Ideal” Cut would be this one: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/1.03-carat-f-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-840809 which sells for $5,180, still a DEAL and you Save Tons of Money! But if you look at the Cushions, the Best Shape to really Save Money, you’ll see this Diamond: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.00-carat-f-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-752193 selling for $4,420! Either way, their Great Diamonds at Low Low Prices! :) -Richard
My turn now – I stand corrected. The “Good” cut factor IS of course listed on the JA site – but it’s in their graphic directly underneath the rotating diamond, separate from the rest of the information that is listed a little further down the page. I wonder why they split that up like that? You’d think they’d want to keep those three items together especially in the cases of the triple triplet – cut, polish and symmetry! Oh well – that’s their show and I’m sure they have their reasons for whatever they have set up on their pages.
Oh – its still up for grabs, but it’s not feeling the need to cut the price just yet, it being Valentine’s Day season and all, so it’s now $4,250.00!
Anyway, just wanted to point that out, in case someone else comes along and actually READS what I wrote up there, and starts to wonder if I’m home by myself having a few drinks!
(I am, actually, but I’ve never had that sort of an effect from Cherry Pepsi! LOL!!)
lol A few drinks makes me see everything as “Excellent” vs “Good”. :) -Richard
