COMPARE F vs G DIAMOND COLOR

F To G Comparison…

I am a big fan of Pure White Diamonds.

Pure White are the Diamonds in the Color Ranges of D, E, and F. They are Ultra White, Very Bright, and the BEST that Money can Buy!

BUT…

They are also More Rare, and More Expensive than the Average Diamond Color.

The Average Color on the Market, is in the Near Colorless Range. Which are G, H, I, and J Colors…

G-H is at the High End of the Near Colorless Stones and are Considered “FINE WHITE” Colors.

I-J is at the Lower End, and sometimes exhibit an OFF COLOR, or even a Light Yellow Hue or Tint at times.

So the True Question Remains…

F is a Pure White Diamond, G is a Near Colorless Diamond…

Can you really tell the two apart???

(Not so easy, eh?)

They fall into two different Color Categories, sit side by side on the charts, and can up the value and price by hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.

So is it worth it?

Can you really spot the difference???

The Answer: NO!

Not really. Which can be concerning, considering the fact that I push Pure White Stones so much…

But Hear me out…

When ever you view two ranges directly next to each other, 99% of the time, you won’t see a visual difference between them.

This can be said for any Color Range: D-E, G-H, L-M. As well as Clarity too: SI1-SI2, VVS2-VS1…

Like in the Clarity Example below…

If they sit next to each other, chances are, you won’t be able to spot the differences.

For the differences are minute. Slight changes that most customers would never pick up on. It’s even difficult for a trained expert to identify the difference, especially without the proper tools, lighting, or equipment.

That’s why an F Colored Diamond, next to a G Colored Diamond, is really going to appear similar and be very difficult to tell which is which.

You might be able to tell, sure, or you might only be able to tell if someone were to inform you. But a normal person just looking at the stones, would never really know.

They’d have No Clue!

And that’s because they’re both “White” Stones. Pure White, Fine White, it’s still WHITE!

Most people can’t see the variances…

And Here’s WHY:

Diamonds aren’t Color Grade Face Up!

(Meaning looking straight down into the Stone.)

NOPE!

They’re actually turned upside down, and viewed at an angle through the Pavilion (Base).

Like so…

Now, what’s important to note is this; The eye usually can’t see a difference in side by side colors…

But… They can often pick up Colors that are NOT side by side. As in D versus a G, or, G versus a K.

Going two or more steps between Diamond Colors is enough of a subtle difference to be noticeable.

That’s when you start to see the magic happen.

You begin to spot the differences between a White Diamond and a Not-So-White…

The Pure White Diamond tends to “POP”.

So if you’re deciding between an F and a G, it’s not going to make any Real Visual Difference. Go for the G and Save Some Money!

But, if you ask me about E versus G, well by all means, GO FOR THE E!

There is a difference that you would see, and so would others.

E Colored Diamonds are STUNNING!

The E would Shine Bright, White, and add Much Needed Appeal to any Diamond of any Quality.

For a White Stone looks BIGGER, hides Defects more (Inclusions in the Stone), and of course, always looks CLEANER!

(Not Antiqued , Stained, Tarnished, or Old)

Especially when she compares her Diamond up against her Girlfriends Diamond (and she will do this).
